Marketing Order 927’s research subcommittee oversees the research funding and sets the research priorities in order to help direct researchers to the areas and topics deemed most important to the pear industry.
The research funds are collected under the authority of the Federal Marketing Order 927, coordinated by the Pear Bureau and administered by the Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission.

View the 2011 pear research projects approved at a joint meeting of the Fresh Pear Committee and Processed Pear Committee on March 22, 2011.
For projects in the final year of funding (those with an ending year of ’11), researchers will file a final report for the 2012 review, and if continued funding is desired, researchers must submit a new pre-proposal request. See the Washington Tree Fruit Research Committee website at www.treefruitresearch.com for report and proposal formats.
